Mesa V2 Infant Car Seat

The Specs:

Suitable for children from 4 to 35 lbs., and up to 32″ in height (whichever comes first)
Infant Insert: 4 to 11 lbs.
Car Seat Weight: 9.9 lbs.
Base Weight: 9 lbs.
Orientation: Rear-facing

The Mesa V2 Infant Car Seat is the upgraded version of UPPAbaby’s Mesa Infant Car Seat (you can read our comparison article here).

The V2 is UPPAbaby’s most popular car seat, evidenced by its many 5-star reviews.

For use from birth to age 2 (approximately), the Mesa V2 is packed with comfort and safety features that keep your child snug and safe while in the car. Things like a large padded headrest, an infant insert for perfect positioning, and an anti-rebound bar keep baby and parent at ease during trips.

The V2 is easy to install in any backseat using either UPPAbaby’s SMARTSecure System or LATCH, and it also has European belt routing to keep it secure when used without its base.

Additionally, you can directly attach the V2 to UPPAbaby’s Vista and Cruz strollers or use adapters to attach the seat to the Minu and Ridge strollers.

Mesa Max Infant Car Seat

The Specs:

Suitable from 4 to 35 lbs. or 32” in height
Infant Insert: For use from 4 to 11 lbs.
Car Seat Weight: 9.9 lbs.
Car Seat Dimensions: 17” L x 25” W x 24” H
Base Weight: 12.6 lbs.
Base Dimensions: 14” L x 24” W x 17.5” H
Orientation: Rear-facing

The Mesa Max Infant Car Seat is the newest seat to the UPPAbaby line-up. This exciting seat offers parents many of the safety features parents love about the Mesa V2 including EPP foams, side-impact protection, a no rethread harness, and a 4-position anti-rebound handlebar.

Like the Mesa V2, the Mesa Max also offers easy installation via SMARTSecure System, LATCH, or a European belt routing (when used without its base), plus is travel system compatible with UPPAbaby Strollers.

This sleek seat also boasts a few new bells and whistles including a larger canopy that covers almost the entire seat when extended, built-in ventilation to keep baby nice and cool, and a few extra inches of room to adjust the headrest for better customization. However, the most exciting changes are found in the Mesa Max Base, which includes an anti-rotational load leg and anti-rebound panel for added protection in a collision.

The Specs:

Suitable for children from 14 to 65 lbs., or up to 49" tall (approximately 1 to 6 years)
Infant Insert: 14 to 25 lbs.
Rear-Facing: 14 to 40 lbs.
Forward-Facing: 25 to 65 lbs.

Available in 4 striking colours, the Knox is a convertible car seat — meaning it can be positioned rear-facing for an infant or forward-facing for older children.

Of note, it’s a stage 2 car seat (you could also use it as a secondary car seat). While the Knox isn't designed for tiny newborns, the seat comes with an infant insert for babies that meet the minimum 14 lbs. threshold.

UPPAbaby packs the Knox with safety features such as:

A Koroyd base that absorbs energy and crash forces
A tether strap that keeps the seat from rotating in the event of a crash
Protective, dense EPP foam
Side impact protection pods

The Knox installs via SMARTSecure or LATCH, includes a no-rethread harness, has machine-washable seat covers, and is reclinable for ultimate comfort.

Alta High-Back Booster Seat

The Specs:

Suitable for children from 40 to 100 lbs., and 38” to 57” in height (approximately 6 to 10 years old)
Dimensions: 20” L x 19” W x 25.5–33” H (height headrest in lowest and highest positions)

The Alta High-Back Booster Seat is intended for older children who have outgrown their convertible car seat but still require proper belt positioning while in the backseat.

It comes with rigid LATCH anchors that lock the seat in place, and a 7-position high-back headrest can be adjusted to fit your growing child. The headrest also includes dense side foam for protection in the event of a crash.

Side impact pods are also included to disperse crash forces, and double armrests add an extra dash of comfort. UPPAbaby throws in a cup holder (which can be attached to either armrest), and the seat’s fabric is removable for easy washing in the event your child spills anything on it (which will 100% happen at some point).
