Newborns, infants, and toddlers…oh my!

Many parents are in search of a stroller that can take them through each of these child development stages. While there are many strollers on the market that fit the bill, finding a lightweight and fashionable stroller that meets these criteria is another question.

If you are one of these parents, don’t worry, you don’t need to compromise. The Jet 3 Super Compact Stroller from Silver Cross has just strolled in to save the day.

We’re not sure if it’s appropriate to call a stroller “sexy” but if the Jet 3 could talk it would say, “I’m not a regular mom, I’m a cool mom”. Boasting sleek lines and elegant accents, the Jet 3 is a premium compact stroller, falling under the category of super lightweight, which is an improvement on the previous models in their Jet line.

How improved is it? How does it stack up against the competition?

Keep reading to get the 411 on this new and oh-so-boujee baby stroller.

Big Changes

The Specs:
  • Open Dimensions: 35.43" L x 17.7" W x 39.5" H
  • Folded Dimensions: 7.08" L x 11.81" W x 21.65" H
  • Product Weight: 13.6 lbs (6.2 kg)
  • Recommended Age: From birth to 44 lbs.

The Jet 3 implements three major design changes to improve the user experience:

  1. Wide Wheel Placement: The front wheels are positioned further apart than in previous models. This change improves weight distribution and makes the stroller much more sturdy.

  2. Improved Deployment: From its compact state, simply unbuckle the side latch and the stroller pops up in one fell swoop. It’s so effective that you might have an issue keeping it from deploying automatically — so be ready! Conversely, compacting the Jet 3 is just as easy — pull up on the bumper bar while pressing the handle’s button.

  3. Larger Storage Basket: A 20% larger basket is included underneath the seat for storing more baby essentials. You can stow up to 11-pounds of stuff in there now. The basket can also be accessed from either the front or rear of the stroller, so you can get to your must-have items tout suite.

Baby Geniuses

Another new feature Silver Cross introduces on the Jet 3 is a new magnetic Genius buckle. Using magnets is something only a few strollers are currently doing, but it will likely become the norm going forward. Not only do they provide safety and security, but they make connecting the 5-point harness easy when your baby is fussy, using three simple clicks.

As for the seat, kids can sit up at a 120° angle, lay flat if they want to get some rest, or be positioned anywhere in between. As children grow, they’ll either need more or less foot support, so the adjustable footplate is a really nice feature.

Honey, I Shrunk the Stroller

When folded the stroller’s dimensions make it an easy fit for any vehicle’s trunk or back seat. When not in use, it can easily be stored away and out of sight without taking up much space.

For babies that can’t resist racking up those frequent flier miles…

The Jet 3’s folded size rivals carry-on luggage, so you can stow it in any airplane’s overhead bin. With its wheels still exposed, you can roll it through the airport with ease, rather than carrying it everywhere you go.

Isn’t That Convenient?

If all of that wasn’t enough, parents will find further convenience in the following features:

Lockable Swivel Wheels: Swivel wheels make for smooth maneuvering during operation, which can then be locked for security when the stroller is stationary.

Sun Protection: The canopy is rated at UPF 50+ for maximum protection of baby’s delicate skin.

Removable Bumper Bar: The bumper bar snaps on and off for compacting purposes, but it also makes for easier access when loading/unloading your baby.

Vents and Windows: A roll-up magnetic vent is included on the back wall, and a peek-a-boo window on the canopy lets you keep watch on your little one on the run.

Covers: The Jet 3 comes with both a rain cover for wet weather and a travel cover to protect it during transit and storage.

Of note: The stroller can also be used with a car seat, but requires an adapter (sold separately).

Good Things and Small Packages

If babies have taught us anything, good things come in small packages.

In the past compact strollers have had a bad rap for being a bit dinky, resulting in many parents opting for a full-sized product in order to get the extra features and luxurious look they want.

However, the Jet 3 is not the compact stroller of our childhood. While it is physically smaller, Silver Cross has seemingly thought of everything to deliver a convenient travel stroller to rival its full-sized counterparts. Parents can enjoy a stroller that’s easy to use, lightweight, and compact, while also getting a durable, high-quality product that will keep them looking good and baby feeling comfortable for years to come.
