2019 CRUZ it Forward Winner
CONGRATULATIONS!Hi Friends, we have our 2019 CRUZ it Forward Winner! This annual contest is a highlight of the summer for Snuggle Bugz and UPPAbaby and something that we eagerly look forward to each August.
Thank you to all 1,005 of you who submitted an entry, you are truly generous to take the time to enter for your friend, family member or colleague. The stories were very emotional to read but heartwarming to know how amazing our community is!
After reading every meaningful entry, our top 5 submissions were reviewed by a panel of judges including both Snuggle Bugz and UPPAbaby team members. We are extremely touched and humbled to have everyone’s story shared with us. The community of supportive family members is astounding!
This is why we have selected Marina as our 2019 CRUZ it Forward Winner. Below you will find the story of Marina who was nominated by her husband, Colin. It was our absolute pleasure to award Marina the UPPAbaby CRUZ and Changing Bag during our Fall Baby Gear Day at our Snuggle Bugz Coquitlam location.
Here’s the entry submitted by her husband Colin:
I would like to nominate my wife Marina. She is my best friend and together we made our little best friend Oliver. He was so excited to meet us, he decided to come early. A little too early by 2 months. No parent is ever really ready, but we were totally not ready. You see shortly before he made his debut, my wife was in a car accident. Some weeks after her accident her water broke and she had PPROM (premature ruptured membranes) & was hospitalized for a week. She was woken up every hour to have her temperature taken, meds given, blood pressure taken, blood drawn and so on. A revolving door of doctors, nurses, NICU team coming in to tell us the survival chances of our baby, the possible disabilities he may have or face later in life. I know how scared, confused and nervous I was and I wasn't even the one carrying him. She's the bravest woman I know (sorry mom) and I'm honoured to be her husband and the proudest parent in the world. Her stay wasn't easy, yet she did it. She did it with many tears, questions, worries, lots of faith, prayers, love, smiles and laughter. Because that's my wife. An amazing wonder in this world, that's her. After 1 day of being discharged our son blessed us with his presence. He wanted to show us how strong he is, how brave he is, and how loved he is. He is all of this because of Marina. She never gave up hope. Our son Oliver reminds us how beautiful life is. I would also like for her to have a great stroller that's light and dependable. Thanks so much for this chance!!
