Great seat!

My son loves the seat! Seems very comfortable and easy to use. The cushions on the side of the head do double duty to keep his head upright when he falls asleep. Bonus for my hubby is that the seat's smoother contour saves the car's interior more than other types of car seats.

Great quality

We bought this in Rugby and it was on sale at that time for $100 less. It was an awesome purchase!!!! The steel-frame instead of plastic makes it really sturdy... but heavy. Nonetheless, I feel safer for my baby with this than any other cheaper material car seat. Also, I love the fact that you can keep your baby rear facing longer!!!! :)

best seat ever!!! only seat you will need

I was looking for a car seat that would fit into a 1997 Honda civic. I read many reviews on this seat but wasn't sure if it would fit in the back rear facing. I went to the Milton location to have a look and one of the ladies there was extremely helpful. She carried the seat out into my car to see if it could fit. The seat fits comfortably RF and FF. I also purchased the wedge for RF.
The only downfall is it is heavy and moving it from one car to another was hard but I didn't mind because I felt my son would be safe regardless which car I put him in. We now have a mazda 5 and he sits very comfortably FI.
I only wish I had purchased this first instead of a bucket seat.

Amazing

Easy to install. With the narrow base we can fit all three carseats in 1 row . Our boys who are 5 and 6 years old still use the harness system and refer to them as their "rocket seats".
Tightening the straps takes a little getting used to. Overall, best carseats we've had!

Best car seat on the market!

After discovering we were expecting our 3rd baby, we searched for a car seat that we could fit 3 in a row as we had an SUV. That is when we discovered the Radian. We are extremely satisfied with these seats and we are kicking ourselves in the butt that we discovered these later as we already had spent money to put seats in our 2 vehicules. They are worth their price and when our 3rd baby will need to transition from the bucket seat, she will have a Radian too.

Great Seat to Buy

I purchased my first Radian when my middle daughter was born because I liked that fact the seat would grow with her. When I was pregnant with my son (my third) I bought two more seats so that I could fit all three kids in car seats in the back seat of my Altima. My son is now a year old and I still have all three kids in their Radians and they will be in them until they age out. I love the seats and their versatility, three kids, three different ages and sizes but all in the same seat.

Worth its price.

We bought 2 for our twins and we love them. They used to scream in their bucket seats and were much happier when we transferred them into these at 9 months. Still rear facing at 19 mo very comfortably. I feel very comfortable knowing that they are sitting in a very good quality and safe seat.

We bought 2 of these seats as they are MUCH narrower than most car seats and we were needing to fit 3- yes 3 car seats across the back of a Ford Escape - and it WORKS! Great quality seat... would highly recommend! Saved us from having to purchase a different vehicle!

Great product

This seat was very easy to install and very easy to get my son in and out and tightened properly for a secure fit. My only complaint is it is big so really limited my passenger space in the front of the car. I will be getting an angle adjuster and hopefully that will fix the problem. Very nice design as well. Diono carries a large amount of products to assist with proper install as well which i like. I did extensive research on car seats as i wanted one with extended rear facing options, comfortable and a 3 in 1 so i hopefully never need another. It is a little pricey to start out and we bought 2 right away so we weren't doing the carseat swap but if we never need another one it is really a good price for all the great options.

Very Pleased!

I love the Radian RXT. It takes a little getting used to when tightening the straps rear-facing - but now almost a year later I am still so pleased with the purchase. We bought two seats - one for a Honda CR-V and one for a Mazda 3. They fit rear-facing and once you use the angle adjuster you can even sit in the front passenger seat!

Great seat

After a lot of research I decided to purchase this seat because it seemed to have a lot of positive reviews as well as a great safety rating. I also love that it folds in half and is so narrow and was one if the reasons I bought it since we were taking it onto an airplane. It fit in the airplane seat perfectly! The only negatives are that it is a bit heavy and pricey. I just waited until it went on sale and got it then.

Great Carseat

We bought this as our second carseat (after our daughter grew out of her bucket seat). We absolutely love it! We now have 2. Our daughter is forward facing and our son is rear facing. It installs and fits into our vehicle very easily and the children appear very comfortable. Also a feature of Diono is crash exchange program. If you are in a crash (specific guidelines on website), they will exchange for a new one. Love, love, love this seat

The Best

Worth the cost for sure! We've had our son riding in it since he was four months as he was too constricted in his infant car seat. It's extremely comfortable for him, it was like night and day compared to his infant seat.

We have as Subaru forestor and have his car seat in the rear middle, it is a little tight for us riding upfront. We purchased the angle adjuster and we've got so much more room upfront for ourselves. He have excellent head support so it wasn't an issue, except when he fell asleep, his head would fall to one side. We put a head support in and now there is no issue.

Hands down, if you're thinking of purchasing this car seat, do not hesitate. We love how it is constructed with a steel frame vs plastic and so will you! Our next child will be riding in theirs straight from birth!

It is expensive but it's worth every penny. The seat is heavy and the metal frame is very sturdy. I put this in grandparents' car and they keep complimenting how easy it is to use the car seat and how much better this is compared to other cheaper car seats. My baby loves sitting there too.

Great seat

This seat is easy to install and my baby fits well, her head doesn't fall to the side or forwards like it did in the bucket seat. I have a matrix so it's a snug fit behind the passenger seat (I'm too tall to put her behind me) it has a long torso, but I love that it's narrow and still leaves room for more car seats beside it for multiple kids or passengers. It seems well built and sturdy, safety is key.

Love this car seat

You really do get your money worth with this purchase it is pretty much an all in one seat. My child absolutely loves being in, sine he had a snowsuit on due I the cold wearer he was very squished in his car seat that we originally had for a new born after 3 months he didn't like getting into it evacuee you could see he was so uncomfortable. Once we received this as a Christmas gift it made all the difference he wasn't squished anymore and the lower sides make it so much easier to put him in it. If is very sturdy and well made. I feel safe putting my child in it.

Cadillac of Car Seats

After having 5 kids we've gone through quite a few car seats but none of the others were in the same league as the Diono Radian RXT. This car seat is the Cadillac of car seats! So easy to adjust the straps, and no fiddling around with crappy chest clips that stick or won't unlatch properly when you need them to. The micro fiber fabric is so soft & the seat feels quite padded & comfortable for my daughter. I also love the vibrancy of the colours these seats come in! This chair is quite costly but worth the investment!

Can't say enough good things - you get what you pay for, which is worth it in this case!

Love this car seat. We did use a bucket seat for our first as an infant, and purchased this for when it was time to move up. Still rear facing 2+ years, and plan to stay that way as long as the height/weight allows - much safer! Will be purchasing 2 more for our next - one for each vehicle.
Used the carry bag to take it on the plane - it is heavy to carry, but was manageable. The carry bag is almost too small to fit the seat and the angle adjuster and the plastic foot for rear facing, but again we managed. I would travel with it again - just be aware that it can be tricky to get the airline seatbelt unhooked just due to where the latch ends up (right inside the seatbelt track of the seat)!
Child is comfortable in the seat, definitely sleeps in the seat on longer trips.
Narrow width is an advantage - one vehicle has 3 rows of seats, and still able to fold down seat next to the middle where this car seat is mounted to get to the back.
Have mounted it with a seat belt in the middle of a vehicle, and using the Latch system on the side of another vehicle. Install is fairly straightforward, instructions are good. Haven't tried forward facing install yet.
Looking forward to never having to buy another car seat as child grows due to high height/weight tolerances - very good value there.

This is a great car seat! We have a Rav 4 and can fit two Radians and a bucket seat across the back. My two year old can climb in and out himself. He can also do the top clip himself. It's easy to install but I would recommend someone with a bit of muscle to give it the last tug to ensure it's secure as possible! Although it's a bit pricey, it's worth it!

Happy with choice

Purchased this car seat as a replacement to one that was in an accident after a lot of resaearch and asking around. VERY happy we did. The seat is quite heavy, it is well made with a steel frame and very small considering the bulk of other seats. We didn't use it as an infant seat but love that it accommodates ALL stages. It is quite stylish and my son seems very content sitting in it. Wish the cup holder was more secure when attached to the seat, that is quite frustrating but not enough to not get this seat, it's pretty great. Strap buckles are also a sinch to open/close/tighten which was a HUGE step up from our last one. Worth the cost if you have it.

Great seat... a little pricy!

We bought this seat so that in the future we can fit 3 across. It is one of the few that is small enough to do so. While we are very happy with the car seat (it is a little heavy BUT, I believe the material it is constructed from is why it doesn't expire for 10 years), it is quite pricy.

With that being said, I definetly recoment this seat. And once your little one is around a year, if you are finding the room between the carseat and the seats in your car tight, i highly recomment the Angel Adjuster!

We researched a lot before getting this seat, and we weren't disappointed. Our son is comfortable in it, and we like the fact it' can be used for extended rear facing. Comfortable & safe

After much research, I was sold on the Radian RXT due to its extended rear facing, broader range of weight capacities, narrower dimensions, and fold up capability for airport travel.

My son is super comfortable in it and it buckles easily and securely. We installed it ourselves but I had more peace of mind once we had a professional seat installer check it over.

We were worried that it may not fit rear facing in our Corolla but with a slight adjustment of the front seat, it fits great! Your front passenger will just have a little less room.

Great once it is in...

After many hours of comparing seats, we decided on this to replace our 3 year old's carseat after a recent accident. This seat is really solid and my daughter finds it very comfortable, much more so than her previous one. I debated to buy this one or the 120 with no headwinds, but am glad I got this one as she likes it for relaxing on. I love the low side profile which makes it easy for her to climb in to. The one thing that I hated- getting it into my SUV. Some of the instructions were not very clear and it was just a total pain to get nice and tight. I am hoping it really is the last seat she needs as I don't want to have to install it again!

Did a lot of research before buying a car seat and ended up purchasing this seat because of high safety ratings, high customer satisfaction, and for the fact that it is convertible. Not loving it

We bought the seat because it's the most narrow. Just installed it and to be honest, not loving it. I can't stand the strap mechanism - it wont allow you to pull it tight all the way; as soon as it senses pressure from the shoulders you have to kind of pump it slowly closed and this takes FOREVER. So not very happy with it right now and if I dont get used to it I'll be putting it in my husbands car and buying myself something else.

GREAT - as long as....

We decided to get this seat because we wanted something super safe for our daughter as well as something that had a small footprint in our car. We had trouble with our infant car seat because anyone who sat in the front seat was squished! When we saw this one, we knew it was the one for us!

Our daughter is very comfortable in the seat, it wasn't really easy to install but we managed, and the one big thing that they don't tell you is that... YOU NEED THE WEDGE! It's a must have for rear-facing... otherwise... you lose your front passenger seat! So spend the extra $15 and get one!

Totally worth the money!!! We love our Radian!

Safety first

This seat is by far one of the best! I love the safety features of it and how protected my child is. The fact that it is the only seat every needed for a child's car seat life span is worth the price of this car seat. The padding is so soft, I wish our seats were that plush! Only down fall I had with this seat is how long and hard it was to get a good fit in my vehicle (dodge caravan) but once it is in, it is in nice and tight.

Great seat

This car seat although quite pricey, is worth every penny for your precious little ones safety. My son loves his seat, he was never a fan of the bucket seat and soon as we switched over he was a much happier traveller. It is extremely easy to install, with the buckles easy to locate and snap into the metal pieces in the truck. Its compact, weighs a lot not great for traveling with. We did find that when it was rear facing the seat that it was behind could only be so far back otherwise there was no room, basically meant I did all the driving on the weekends otherwise the seat had to be moved every weekend. My son is forward facing now and he still loves being in the seat. He is comfortable and sleeps well.
All in all and with the research I did this car seat came out on top. We will buy another for our second.

I purchased two of these seats...one for each vehicle. One seat I have is Shadow and the other is Storm. I prefer the Shadow colour but I like the Storm as well. I like that this is the last seat I will need to purchase....At least I hope! I also like that this seat doesn't take up too much space in my vehicles. Another great feature is that this seat folds. We purchased a carry bag and have taken this seat with us when travelling by air...once we gate checked it and the other time we checked it with regular baggage. It is heavy to carry but being able to travel with this seat saved us renting a car seat while renting a vehicle...a $150 savings so far with two air travel trips.

Love thig seat!

I have 2 of these side by side (one ff and one rf) in my honda pilot and I love these seats. They are easy to install, easy to clean, great grip on the bottom to my leather seats (without the grip it which I have recently added to protect my seats from having the leather stretched) they are so narrow that an adult can comfortably sit in the 3rd seat beside the car seats. The rf angle is great for my 18month old to sleep without neck strain and my 4.5 yr old is perfectly comfortable in her seat with tonnes of room to grow. I would recommend watching for these to go on sale and think of it as purchasing an investment piece for your child.

I have 2 of these seats, one in our SUV one in a civic. They are great, comfortable and sturdy. One of the longest lasting seats for extended rear facing with a good weight limit for RF. Good variety of patterns. The seat is heavy, but worth it when it comes to safety.

LOVE this seat!

I cannot say enough good things about this car seat! We love ours!
This seat is awesome. I love how low the sides are so I don't have to be lifting my son up and over to get him into the seat. I love the fabric, it's easy to wipe clean and doesn't get too hot/sweaty in the summer. Love that it comes in fun colors. I love that you can do extended rear facing in this seat.
We drive a Mazda3 Sedan and with the angle adjuster, we have no problems fitting the seat in the car. The seat is narrow enough to have other passengers in the back with my son.
We love our seat and would buy it again!

Great stage 2 carseat with rear-facing option

This carseat was one of very few on the market that permits UAS anchoring for the entire life of the five point seat (booster uses just seatbelt). We also had difficulty finding a seat that would rear-face past 30 pounds essential since our six month old already weighs 24 lbs! This carseat is very well made, instructions were easy to follow and it was easy to install. Our baby likes the seat's roominess and finds it comfy. We can also fit it in my Mazda 3 sport rear-facing if the passenger seat is slid all the way forward...a feat that very few seats offered. Worth every penny!

The best car seat we've had

With 3 kiddos under the age of 4 and two vehicles, we have tried our fair share of car seats. Now that we've found the RXT, we want nothing else. Our oldest is 1.10m (44") and 20.5 kg (45lbs) and is nowhere near outgrowing her seat. And thanks to the Radian, we didn't have to buy a larger car to accommodate 3 car seats (we currently have a Hyundai Elantra and a Hyundai Tucson)

Seat for Thress

We have three under 6 and all need car seats. The radian is the only line out there than can fit three across back seats of car. The kids are happy because it's narrow fit allows them to see out and enough legroom to cross their legs. None others can do that.
Love the radian.

Great but heavy

We request this car seat as a gift because other reviews online said it was good if you didn't have a car. It folds up nicely but it's too heavy to carry between vehicles and the house. Now that we have a car it makes more sense. Very nice looking and narrow. Love that it can face the rear for so long.
Please note: we live in BC and the hospital would not let us take our son home in this car seat even though he was 7lbs. Apparently newborns cannot go home in convertible car seats. A bit of a pain since we were trying to avoid buying two car seats.

The reviews were right!

We had to purchase new car seats after an accident and this is the one we bought. I love it and so does our 3 year old. We previously had a graco my65. It was very wide and took up a lot of room in our back seat this car seat is the exact opposite. He has lots of room but the seat it self is compact. The 5 point harness is a nice feature with the way the padding is on the straps. I like the adjustable head rest. Will be purchasing extra cup holders soon. Don't be worried about the extra cost it's worth the investment.

Very comfortable for baby

Great cars seat! baby seems very comfortable in this cars seat (rear facing), much happier then he was in his bucket seat. Pros: comfort, narrow width in back seat, easy to install, remove.
Cons: weight, price.
Would definitely recommend this product and will buy another if I have future children.

worth the money

We purchased the radian RXT in colbalt blue for our son when he was 6 months old. I myself also spent a great time researching car seats. This is a great car seat for tall children. Plus with being quite narrow is great for extra passengers in the back seat. We have a mazda 3 sedan. I was quite worried about how it would fit. You can get it rear facing in the middle but both seats have to be up fairly close to the dash. I strongly recommend the angle adjuster! Saves a few inches of leg room and my son still seems very comfortable. Also I love how it sits low to the backseat. The seat is quite pricy, but for the quality and length of time your child will be able to use it is totally worth it. PS: Love the blue color!

Perfect

Great safety reviews, easy to install, comfortable, easy to take apart for cleaning, and can be used to safely rear face for an extended period.

We are currently using it to rear face my son (2.5) and plan to keep him rear facing until at least 3 years old. We have to use the angle adjuster, which not only gives us more space in the front, it also gives my son a better view as he sits more upright.

Absolutely love this seat, had it for over a year and we have yet to find a single fault with it!

The Best There Is

My husband and I spent days reviewing car seats and finally decided on the Diono Radian RXT due to it's capacity for extended rear-facing, it's longevity (due to being able to convert into a booster), and it's overall safety ratings. We purchased two of these seats from Snuggle Bugz, and have not been disappointed.
This car seat is easy to assemble and install thanks to Diono's clear instructions and videos that walk you through the whole process. It is narrow, leaving room for passengers on both sides if installing in a middle seat. In all, I am confident that my child is safe in this seat, which is the most important feature.
As for cons, my only issues with this seat is that it is heavy (but what do you expect when the thing is made of metal, in order to withstand the impact of any accident), it does take up some room because of it's incline (but I was still able to fit it in my Toyota Matrix, while leaving room for both the driver and passenger in the front), and the cup holder design is disappointing.
I would, however, purchase this seat again.

Great seat!!

I bought this carseat when my son was 14 months old after an airline broke our previous one. My only regret is that I didn't look into one/buy one earlier. It must be much more comfortable for h as he falls asleep all the time in it (never happened in the old seat). It is very easy to install, although it is on the heavy side compared to other seats. I love the option to fold it up for travel, makes it much easier to transport. It has a ton of features, but I bought this seat for the extended rear facing capability and the option to fit 3 across should I ever need to.

Great seat for long use

I have 3 of these seats in my van. My children are 2 (still rear-facing thanks to this seat), 5 and 7. I love the look, the safety features, and the kids all find it comfortable. I have tried several over the years, and realized in some cases, you get what you pay for. Am completely happy with these seats. I was also able to fit all 3 across in our Kia Rondo before we bought our van. It is a tall seat rear-facing so you do need that room and have it in the centre seat (when she was over 1 and walking we added the angle adjuster which really does give more room and now I can fit the seat behind the driver's seat in my Rondo when we've needed to change vehicles). I'm a little sad that my 7 year old will be out of it soon (and then on to the Diono booster I think!).
Great purchase!

Love this seat!

We loved this carseat so much that we bought it twice! Both our kids have one and they love them also. We extend rear-facing for as long as possible and this seat is great for that. I highly recommend the seat angle adjuster that Diono sells. Our seats fit so much better in our Honda civic first and now in our Honda odyssey van. I'm pretty much in love with this seat. We are expecting our third baby and I'll be looking for a sale so we can buy another one! Yes they are pricey but completely worth it considering how long you'll have this seat. We have the Shadow colour and the Plum colour and they look great!

Pure Diono Love!

After much (months) of reading reviews and lamenting about what carseat to purchase we settled on the Radian as our primary seat for our long skinny girl. We've now had it a month and I have zero complaints. It was a breeze to install, it seems like it's so much more comfortable for her. It's incredibly easy to get her in and out of. It's not nearly as bulky installed as it seemed on the shelf. Yes it weighs a ton but it doesn't take up as much room in the car as I thought it should.

My ONLY complaint is the manual, which I found vague on certain details. Ie, there are multiple pieces of padding (infant head rest, shoulder strap covers) but no information in the manual as to when which pieces should or must be used when.

Otherwise it is absolutely a fantastic seat. We've already decided we will be purchasing a second one for the next baby. I got ours for a steal of a deal at 20% off during a flash sale but I would happily purchase at full price. It is hands down worth every penny, especially considering it is the only seat we'll ever need for our daughter.

Best. Seat. Ever.

We bought this seat when our daughter was about 10 months old because she started to hate her infant carrier seat (though she had not outgrown it) and because I would soon be returning to work and we needed to have a seat for each vehicle she'd be traveling in- my car, my husband's car and Gramma's car.
So I researched like crazy, deciding to go for a Radian for my vehicle (2012 Toyota Highlander) to start. Hubby's car (1993 Camry) got a Graco Titan (husbands pick) and Gramma inherited the infant carrier, a Britax B-Safe, for her Kia Sportage.

Well, hands down my Radian is awesome. Great install, it's comfy, she doesn't feel "mushed" into the seat and she'll be using it for a looooong time. At 14 months now she's only 18lbs,29 inches long so its the perfect seat for ERF I plan to do, the FF and then booster. My daughter loves this seat.

I just bought a second one for hubby's car because he finally admitted the Radian is a far more superior seat, plus daughter hates the Graco Titan in Daddys car. The Camry is low to the ground and because of the Titans bulkyness and high sides, DH was sort of dropping daughter into seat instead of placing her nicely. He's had seat-envy since I got my Radian so I figured with the sale it was time for him to have one in his vehicle.

I plan to buy a third for Gramna's car too once daughter outgrows infant carrier because I won't make her sit in the Titan.

Best Seat We Own

When my 3 yr old was born I researched car seats like all parents do! I asked friends for reviews etc. We ended up buying a Britax Boulavard Seat for one car and a Britax Marathon for the other. This is not a Britax review- we actually like both seats. When my son was born this year we decided to look at a new seat for our daughter that would convert to a booster and our son would use the Britax seats. We ordered the Radian RXT in Shadow and we could not be happier with it! It is SO easy to use, my daughter is comfortable. It is not nearly as bulky as the other seats we own. Truth be told my husband wants to do away with the "clunky" Britax and outfit the cars with this seat. We will likely purchase one more soon and use it as my son's primary seat. You really will not be disappointed with this seat! One improvement they could make: the cup holders NEVER stay in place.

I wish I knew about this one earlier

Oh how I wish I knew about convertible car seats. My baby was born pretty big and she outgrew her first car seat (carrier) after about 4 months, so we bought another carrier that had a different height and weight limit. then someone asked me why I don't buy a convertible one and someone very experienced suggested the diono radian rxt. Since I trust this person and since this person has suggested it I was just reading about it from a lot of people ...they all loved it and now, after ordering my own, I totally understand why. My daughter hated her carrier car seat and barely would fall asleep in it while traveling. with this one, she is happy all around, she seems super comfy (she is 5 1/2 months right now) and falls asleep after just a short time of traveling. I'm happy I bought this! And since it is from 5 lbs up to 120 lbs...this is a one time buy and so doesn't seem that expensive anymore. I mean... just calculate how much money you would have to spend if you buy age/weight/height appropriate seats all the time. I already spend hundreds for just the two carrier.

Just had to buy another!

I feel so safe with my Son in this seat! I recently purchased a 2nd for my husbands vehicle as well, he was always complaining that the seat in his car is not as nice as my Diono :) I found it very easy to install and it is SO solid. You really get what you pay for and it's nice to know this will take him all the way up to booster. We have also travelled with this seat (purchased travel bag) and it held up really nicely. It was funny to see our nice Diono in it's bag on the carousel and the other parents just had their seats tossed out all dirty and mangled.

I would recommend this seat to anyone - I had considered the GTX but not sure if the velour fabric all over would be as comfortable and cool as the RXT (Shadow) so I stuck with what I knew! It is heavy and secure and is very comfortable thanks to the padded straps so there is no digging in on His neck!

Amazing!!

Having had the Graco myRide 65 first... This seat is beyond awesome. Fits perfectly in the backseat of a 2dr Sunfire GT.my 2yo son can board the seat himself, and has never complained about anything.

Cupholders never stay in place though... Usually end up thrown into the front of the vehicle. I may or may not be installing it wrong though.

Super easy to install with either UAS anchors or seatbelt (the Sunfire does not have anchors).

I recommend this seat to everybody, but only the nylon... Anything plush is a pain to clean! :)

We purchased this for our 12mo daughter when she graduated from her bucket seat. Seeing it sitting in the backseat of our Mazda3 - beside her 3yo brothers huge clunky seat - makes me want to replace his too! If you plan on, or are even considering, having children who will be in carseats at the same time, I strongly suggest purchasing this product.

I have 2 of these for my daughter and love them!! My husband and I are both over 6ft tall and they are pretty tight rear facing in our Yaris but with the angle adjuster we all have room. She loves looking out the window now and we love that she can be rear facing for longer. They are narrow and we can still fit 2 people beside her in our Yaris. I installed it myself in minutes. Great seat!

I don't normally write reviews but after researching about car seats for so long I wanted to share with others to assist in their search. I just purchased the seat for my 8.5 month old. Recommended by my sister who has two (for her three year old and 13 month old). I have low back problems and really wanted a seat with a low base that I could easily get my daughter in and out of. Took about 15 mins to read the manual and adjust the seat for her height. Simple to install in the car- Only took minutes. Ordered the plum seat which is a brighter colour than I had expected. The shoulder straps are very stiff and the head rest does not fit as well as I had hoped. The seat has a VERY large footprint RF and is very tight fit in my 06 Jetta. I am looking forward to turning her FF so I can fit a passenger back into my car again. Expensive, but worth every penny when you consider your child's safety.... And I will not have to purchase an other seat for her again.

One of the best on the market

After extensive research into convertible car seats, I decided to purchase the Radian RXT.
It's one of the safest available, and can be rear-facing much longer than other comparable seats.
When you factor in the 8 year expiry and the 120lb weight limit, it's more cost effective than most, despite it's initial cost.
It does take up a fair amount of space when rear facing, but the angle adjuster (sold separately) helped quite a bit with that.
Before purchasing see if you can try one out in your car to make sure it fits.
When it comes to car seats, there's no reason to skimp out, and if you are in any way able to afford the best, do it!
A child's life is worth much more than the cost of the most expensive seat.
It was easy to install, adjust, clean and fold up when not in use.
I recommend this seat to every parent I know.

We really like the Diono - have 2 of them in the Van. They are rear facing for now and snug as a bug. However - tried the RF in a 2001 CRV and they have a LARGE foot print, hubby couldn't drive safely (he is over 6ft). They almost seemed too reclined. Great in the Van easy to get them in and out of especially with a three year old in the VERY back - I am able to easily reach over them to reach him.

I installed this seat in our minivan with no problems. I got a super tight rear facing install in about 5 minutes. My 2 year old son LOVES his new seat. It does take up a lot of room though - I can see how it might not fit rear facing in a smaller vehicle. Hopefully the new Diono wedge will fix that problem for other people.
