The Radian®GTX is a highly versatile car seat that could be the only seat you’ll ever need. It comfortably seats rear-facing children from 5-45 lbs, forward-facing children from 20-65 lbs in 5-point harness, then converts to a booster for children up to 120 lbs. It’s built for strength and safety with a steel alloy frame, reinforced sidewalls, adjustable head support and our patented SafeStop® energy absorbing harness. EPS foam surrounds the child's head and body to provide complete side impact protection. Our unique SuperLATCH™ system makes installation easy. The Radian®GTX is NCAP crash tested, the industry benchmark for verifying child seat performance in severe accident conditions, and the only car seat rated for UAS/LATCH use with a child up to 65 lbs. The Radian®GTX sits low on a vehicle seat for easy child boarding, features memory foam padding and infant support pillows. Expandable sides and a longer seat bottom provide extra room and comfort for your growing child. Two cup holders are included, with the option to add up to 4 cup holders. In addition to all this versatility, it folds flat for travel and storage, has a Limited LIFETIME WARRANTY, has a FREE full-size waterproof undermat for complete protection and offers amazing safety, comfort and convenience your child won’t outgrow.
What is the difference between the RXT and the GTX?
The GTX comes with a limited lifetime warranty, is covered with PureFab™ stain resistant velour fabric and comes with a full-size waterproof undermat for complete protection of the vehicle seat.

I bought two of these car seats when my daughter outgrew her infant car seat and I have been very impressed.Value Quality Price
The car seat is really annoying to install in the rear-facing position but I found that using the seatbelt install instead of the latch install was a lot easier and was far tighter and more secure. I also found that after the initial install, the process became a little easier.
As a forward-facing seat, the install is easy and the child sits on a nice incline that allows her to fall asleep without having her head fall forward.
I also had a problem with one of the seat belt clips and after I e-mailed Diono's customer service line, they phoned me within 5 minutes and sent a new piece out right away.
My only complaint about these seats is when using them for very small babies. They are rated from a little as 7 lbs but when I put my second daughter in at 2.5 months, the straps were way too big and we couldn't get a secure fit. She was around 12 lbs at this point. So it is a great seat but not for children who are less than 5-6 months old.

When our old Radians needed to be replaced due to a car accident, the only ones available in store were this model. We bought them and absolutely love them. They were a breeze to install (both kids are rear-facing), and much easier to tighten the harness straps than our old ones! The memory foam pads were a bit large for my baby, so we took them off at first (couldn't get a tight fit), but work well for our 4 year old. I like that there is padding instead of just the strap resting against their necks. We have no problems with these seats - however, they are very expensive and we would not have bought them had the insurance company not been paying for them (we would've gone with a less expensive radian - but still a radian). I purchased 2 of these car seats as I need to fit 3 car seats across in my car and there are not many options for this. the seats are made well - sturdy and the fabric is very nice.Quality Price Value
However, they are terrible to install - take so long, difficult to position and we have found annoying to tighten the straps - my 2.5 year old always complains that the padding on the straps is bothering her - it if very thick and hard....so we are constantly adjusting them.
for my 9 month old - it was so difficult to put the car seat in rear facing - and the strap to tighten the belt were so hard to pull when she was in the seat it always end up in tears. We ended up taking that seat out of the car and using our britax boulevard car seat in the rear facing position (a seat we love) because it is so much easier to install and tighten when child is in the seat. only thing is the britax seat is wide.
We will have to flip back to the Radian once she is forward facing - but we are not looking forward to doing this at all. I am very disappointed that we bought these seats - glad I got them on sale and did not pay full prince that is for sure! We need thinner car seats...but I am not happy with these at all! such a shame. (Posted on 3/30/13)
