The mamaRoo bounces up and down and sways from side to side, just like parents do when comforting their babies. More about the motions... When we set out to create the mamaRoo, we put motion sensors on moms and dads and measured the ways they moved to comfort their babies. While there’s no one universal movement that everybody makes (that would have been too easy), there are certain types of calming motions every parent uses. That’s why the mamaRoo has five different motion settings. Each one is a variation on the up-and-down and side-to-side movements our research found parents making over and over again to soothe their infants. It’s not just a tagline: the mamaRoo really does “move like you do.”

I got this swing when my daughter was 3 months old and wish I had bought it earlier (it will be great for the next one!). The movements are very soothing, especially the one called "car-ride". She'll happily dose off in the chair and stay sleeping as I slow down the motion. My husband calls it a space-pod from the future- it doesn't even look like baby furniture. We were recommended this chair by another mother. Our son likes to be bounced on an exercise ball. This chair has saved us hours of bouncing. The kangaroo setting mimicks that movement. It was a useful chair and we love it. (Posted on 7/9/12)Quality Price Value
