I love this monitor so much I almost bought a second in case they for some reason stopped making this. After having fuzzy monitors that are so annoying to listen to, I got this one. A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. It is crystal clear, so clear that I kept checking to see if it is on. I can hear baby breath, which is very reassuring. Now that I've had it over two years it starts to have a little buzz sound if the battery is almost dead but as soon as I pop it on the charger it goes away. Pretty amazing for the amount of use and dropping this thing has gone through. I would 100% recommend this to anyone. I had another monitor and was so tired of hearing fuzz all the time. Bought this and love it! Never hear anything except when baby makes a noise then its so sensitive I can hear breathing and soother sucking. My son is two and we have loved it for two years. After two years I notice that the battery doesn't last as long but if left on the charger during the night it has no problem being off the charger for both nap times :) I love this so much I just bought another one for my 3 week old! I bought this monitor with high hopes after reading mixed reviews on nearly every monitor out there, so I decided on this one due to all its features (temperature, music, etc.).Price Value Quality
It worked great for about 2 weeks and then started buzzing/hissing nonstop louder than interference normally sounds. I tried everything imaginable to remedy the problem (moving it around the house, unplugging all my other wireless technology) to no avail. I was under the impression that DECT technology offers zero interference, so even if I had someone wireless in my house somewhere, it should still work without static. I could also hear strange conversations on my parent handset, and just thought perhaps someone was walking down the street having a very loud conversation, but whenever I would check, no one would be there, so the unit was either picking up conversations from my neighbours' wireless/cell phones, my baby started talking extremely early, or there are ghosts in my house. I am going to go with the first option...junk.
I have since purchased a Safety First monitor that is also DECT and it is AMAZING, not one shred of static or interference.
Really disappointed in Philips, they normally make great products. Since I couldn't return the item, I am now using it as a thermometer/music player/night light for the baby. I guess it wasn't a total loss, but for that price, yikes! (Posted on 10/26/11)
