I am a strong believer in Britax. Got the chaperone, loved it. Got the Advocate CS, love it. But am not as impressed with the SICT. I love that the advocate had click safe, so whenever I pulled the strap, it would click when it was at the right tension. But for some reason they left this out of the SICT model, even though it has a 5 point safety harness as well (which I love). And I am finding that the straps gets caught and tangled a lot. Sometimes I have to pull it from the back of the seat to the appropriate tension, and then pull the cord. If I tried to pull the cord alone, it would get stuck. Installation was easy. It's quite big, but my big 2.5year old fits much better in it than the advocate (especially in the winter with her bulky jacket). My son is two and a half. My daughter is almost one. We travel a lot, so safe comfortable car seats are a must. My son loves that he can put his drink in his car seat and a few Thomas the trains fit in the other side. It sits more upright than his advocate did, so I just prop a blanket under his head when he falls asleep to ease his neck strain. I got this car seat in onyx and it is quality fabric in nice neutral dark grey/black for resale. In addition, my husband has taken all of the fabric off with not a lot of effort and it washes up great. However, it is the snuggle bugs service that most impressed me. I ordered two car seats online and they arrived two days later with free shipping. This type of service is very much appreciated by those of us living in rural Canada. Overall, great purchase and I am ordering two more for our second vehicle. They are very easy to install as well. I now have a frontier xt and a frontier xt sict and both carseats are a bit higher priced but when it comes to my kids safety this is the highest rated carseat anywhere you look. I have my frontier xt in the middle of my vehicle so the extra side impact wasnt needed as much but my sict is right beside the window and it give me extra assurance that my little guy is protected. Not only is it safe but almost everytime that we get in the vehicle they both fall asleep and their head doesnt bob around like I have seen in some vehicles. User friendly to put in once you get the hang of it and safe which is a win win to me. I recommend britax products time and time again! this is a great seat - comfortable, easy to install and exceptional quality. I think, however, that the SecureGuard device should come standard with all combination seats and boosters. My 2 & 1/2 year old granddaughter grew out of the Cosco Scenara I had her in, so I started researching for an upgrade.Price Value Quality
It quickly became clear that this car seat was the way to go.
It came well packaged (thanks snuggle bugz for the free shipping), and the manual was easy to read.
I took my granddaughter and the carseat to our local Early Years Centre for installation by the 'experts'.
It was easy to set up but best of all was my 'Doodle's' reacation - she loves the red colour and she smiled when the padded buckle didn't pinch her nether regions!
The quality of the seat seems excellent. I like how easy it is to get her buckled in for our next adventure.
Yep it cost $339.00 plus tax but I imagine we will be using it for years to come and for the length of time we will be knowing our sweetie-pie is safe I estimate it will cost about $1.00 per week!
That's a bargain. RUN OUT AND GET THIS CARSEAT FOR YOUR PRECIOUS BUNDLE - it's peace of mind! (Posted on 2/9/12)
